Default Saving

Is there a way to save in-mission? It gets old doing the first 30% of mission and dying over... and over... and over... and over... and...

I understand if it's supposed to make the game more difficult, but give the USER the decision to save or not save instead of forcing it on us.

first: N, no way to save in game, in fact you only have a 2 options menu, resume/exit . . . ahem . . . year 2007 .. . a lot years of games . . . same menu like Pong . . . ahem . . . never mind :P

Second: agree, the game need that, and much more another options that are usualy abiable on all other games like grafic configuration before launch the game which solves a lot crashes (to developers: see tech support and youll get an idea) well is only and idea.

conclusion: good beta-test, i only find 1 or 2 minor bugs on gameplay, but a lot things miss on menus and game configuration options

I have the same problem , can't find a way to save during missions
I'm in the scattered remains mission and done it like 24 times now and i'm sick of having to go through the into and chat and reconfig my ships every time before i can start and try it again , usually lose after 5 minutes and have to go through the 10 minutes intro every time before i can try again

i'm out of this game till they give me a way to save my shipconfigs every time
the configs i used in the former mission are totally useless in the next one
Can't pass the mission without being able to save after i capture the first enemy base
thips and weapons are just not strong enough to put a dent in the enemy ships while they blow me up in a minute or 2

This game is sux. I was amazed to see there is no save game option at all. Not to mention whole lot of missing stuff

Thumbs up

There is a way to save that works in most cases, just use the portal select a jump point, grab some resources if need be and jump back Voila! game saved. You can quit the game following the jump and return when you like. I jump all over the place between missions to grab some fresh blood and get some genes from the various enemies.

Yeah I heard that workaround from someone else here, too. Haven't been able to play much of the game due to the "not enough meomory" bug, so I wasn't aware this game suffered from "consolitis" (only being able to save at designated points). That's a bit of a downer. Maybe they'll add a save feature in the next patch too? On the bright side, at least you don't have to completely start over from the beginning if you "die" 3 times like original NES / arcade games. You can just die 100 times on the same level until you do everything 100% perfectly, cheat, or shoot yourself! ;x I hope this workaround is at least not a huge pain. :P
